It’s been recently announced that there will be a pretty big change coming to the Sims 4 in the next update patch. After reading what Sims Community had to say about the whole change, I’m still not exactly sure on how I feel about it. What I do know is our game is about to be changed forever.
What is changing? Gender Barriers removed. According to Rachel Franklin, the team at Sims 4 has been working for over a year to bring this change about.
What will gender barriers removed do to your game? Things like clothing, shoes, hair (face and body), accessories will be accessible to either female or male Sims.
Rachel stated in a email sent to the Associated Press: “female Sims can wear sharp men’s suits like Ellen (DeGeneres), and male Sims can wear heels like Prince.”
She also went on to say: players can now change their Sims’ gender at any time and specify whether they can reproduce with other characters. She said Maxis worked with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender advocacy group GLAAD on the update, including following a suggestion to remove gender symbols associated with characters in the game’s gallery.
